料紙 (Ryoushi)

料紙 (Ryoushi) is a minimal intelligent bedside lamp. The design centers around it’s origami paper-like design. Warmth, contemporary elegance, and a sense of softness despite sharp corners was key focus in the design.
A beside light is more than a simple source of illuminaiton. 料紙 (Ryoushi) is a statement piece that belnds form and function. Using a distance sensor to control the different modes; from a low warm light to a brighter warm tone.
Inspired by DRIFT’s “Shylight” in it’s sense of shape and form, these elements are visible in the design.

A house, a clock, a lamp, a piece of my heart.
One side represents the time in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania while the other represents the time in Bangkok, Thailand.
With Love, (คิดถึง) was presented as a part of an IDeATe A Road with Trees exhibition. This lamp presents the current time with light, but for the purposes of the exhibition a 24 hour simulation in 1 minute could be triggered. The simulation was presented with a soundscape.
